This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) applies to every customer of TTN and forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. Prohibited content and activity
You must not use the Service to send, store, generate or receive:
- content that is unlawful, defamatory, threatening, harassing, obscene, hateful, or that incites violence;
- content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights of any person;
- fraudulent communications, including phishing, smishing, or impersonation of any person or organisation;
- marketing communications that breach the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) or other applicable anti-spam law;
- calls to numbers on the Do Not Call Register (Australia) or national equivalents without an applicable exemption.
2. Telephony abuse
You must not use the Service to:
- generate or facilitate auto-dialled, pre-recorded, robocall or mass-volume outbound calls without all required consents;
- spoof, alter or obscure caller ID in a misleading or unlawful way;
- carry traffic at volumes or patterns that interfere with carrier networks, including grey-routing, traffic pumping, or arbitrage.
3. System and network abuse
You must not:
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related system without our prior written consent;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system or data;
- introduce malware, trojans, worms or any other malicious code;
- interfere with, disrupt, or impose an unreasonable load on the Service or its infrastructure;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code of the Service, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it notwithstanding this prohibition.
4. AI-specific restrictions
You must not use TTN to:
- impersonate an individual or organisation in a way intended to deceive recipients about who they are speaking to, beyond identifying the call as an AI receptionist acting on behalf of your business;
- generate content that could reasonably be used to commit fraud, cause physical or psychological harm, or defraud insurance, tax or consumer-protection systems;
- use personal information collected through the Service to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on a person without a lawful basis for doing so.
5. Consent for call recording
Many jurisdictions require notification or consent before a phone call may be recorded. You are responsible for ensuring that your TTN configuration provides any required notification or obtains any required consent from callers in your jurisdiction.
6. Consequences
If we reasonably believe you have breached this AUP, we may, without limiting our other rights:
- investigate the matter and request information from you;
- suspend or limit access to the Service while we investigate;
- remove or block offending content or traffic;
- terminate your account, with notice where reasonably practicable;
- report the breach to law enforcement or any other competent authority where required by law.
7. Reporting abuse
To report a breach of this AUP, including spam or abuse you have received from a TTN-handled number, please email our contact form with as much detail as you can provide.
